We are excited to be participating in Gardenology 2016! We’ll have a booth on the courthouse lawn sharing information about our Co+op initiative, answering questions and signing up owners. A seed planting activity is planned for kids. Stop by and say “HI” and enjoy the rest of the festival:

The 8th Gardenology Festival will be held rain or shine on May 14, 2016 between 10am and 4pm.

The event will take place in downtown Geneva, IL. Stop by the Welcome Tent and enter a raffle to win a Gardenology Watering Can.

Gardenology advisers and vendors will bring their best ideas and garden related products to jump-start your gardening season. Experts in every horticulture field including farming, landscape design, weavers, local nurseries, and more will be on hand to answer your questions. Topics include herbs, flowers, vegetables, heirloom plants and perennials. Learn about attracting birds & butterflies, wildlife control, composting, organic fertilizers and more. Scheduled seminars at the speaker’s tent, demonstrations and children’s events are planned and will be posted on the Gardenology website. Please join us for the day long festival and our garden path to Nature.

Green Tomato Grocery Co+op will be celebrating Earth Day at Peck Farm! We’ll be sharing information about our community-owned cooperative and signing up new owners plus Farmer Tim will be helping children learn about soil and planting seeds to take home.

Stop by and say Hi, become an Owner, pick up a few brochures to share with friends and enjoy the day and the rest of the activities including:

Rain Barrels for Sale – Bicycle Check-Ups – Small Petting Zoo-Chalk Art – FREE Paper Shredding – Green Education Electronic Recycling – Children’s Activities – Chair Massages – And More!

Bring a non-perishible food item for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Read Green: Take a book, leave a book! Bring a gently used book to the Geneva Public Library’s table and exchange it for another used book of your choice.

Plus, US Again will acccept old textiles.Please note: no rugs or carpet.

Plus, kick off the day with an Earth Day Clean-up Hike around Peck! Families are invited to join us in a a 2.5 mile hike to better our area’s local park from 8:30-10:30 am. Participants will meet in the Peck Courtyard before beginning their hike. Please wear appropriate shoes for hiking, and bring work or garden gloves for picking up trash. This program is FREE with no registration required. Simply show up with a smile and the desire to help love Mother Earth!
